The Dolphins are still less than 50% owned on
average in Fantasy leagues...
We noted a few weeks ago that the Dolphins had a
strong schedule of opponents projection for the
final 5 Fantasy weeks. The crescendo of that
schedule trend is Week-15 and 16, when they get
Buffalo next week and finish with Detroit (and
likely Drew
Stanton). The Dolphins are a top
NFL Defense, but have been cursed with a very
difficult schedule in 2010. Overall this Fantasy
season, the Dolphins-D has been middle of the
pack, but over the last 5 weeks they have been
trending upward.
Over the last 5 weeks, Miami has only allowed
13.8 offensive points per game to their
opponents and are averaging a top ten level 8.4
FF PPG in that span. The Dolphins best defensive
game of their last 5 occured this past game at
the Jets. Now the Dolphins get 2 home games
back-to-back against Buffalo and Detroit, must
win games for any shot at the playoffs. A quick
trending look at Buffalo and Detroit offense
from the (all important) QB perspective:
-
Ryan
Fitzpatrick has been very
good this season, especially early on, but
he has started to fall off in the past few
weeks. In his past 6 games, Fitzpatrick has
completed just 57.0% of his passes with
221.0 passing yards per game, 1.0 INTs per
game and 13.2 FF PPG (he has averaged 16.4
FF PPG overall). His trend is down, teams
may be figuring out their offense.
-
Drew Stanton
has been very shaky. Two starts the last 2
weeks, with 55.3% completion rate with a
lowly 147.5 yards per game passing and 1.0
TD and 1.0 INT per game pace in his 2
starts.
Neither BUF or DET have a good running game
and both teams are mailing it in for 2010. Miami
is a top NFL defense with these favorable
Fantasy matchups. For those hopping defenses, or
need a fill in for a bad matchup of your primary
defense...consider Miami the rest of the way.
